Project Childsafe Gun Locks
The Topsfield Police along with Project Childsafe developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and supported by a U.S. Department of Justice grant, are working to help ensure safe and responsible firearms ownership and storage of firearms. Through the Childsafe program, putting a lock on safety in your home, the Police department has cable-style gun locks. These locks are free to the public along with a firearm safety pamphlet and may be picked up at the Police station. To obtain one of these locks contact the station at 978-887-6533 and set up a time to stop by the station. If anyone is interested in receiving free firearm safety reminders from Project Childsafe via e-mail they can sign up at www.projectchildsafe.org
